STAND FOR GAZA - Gaza Needs Your Voice! Free Palestine!
There is an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. Families continue to endure unimaginable suffering, driven by repeated violence, mass displacement, the destruction of civilian infrastructure, and severe restrictions that have crippled daily life.
Hunger & starvation risk remains extreme
According to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), around 1.6 million people (about 77% of the population analysed) faced Crisis or worse (IPC Phase 3+) in late 2025—and the projection through mid-April 2026 remains severe, with around 571,000 expected to be in Emergency (IPC Phase 4) and about 1,900 in Catastrophe (IPC Phase 5) if conditions do not worsen again. (IPC Info)
The IPC has also warned of an acute malnutrition emergency stretching into 2026: through June 2026, at least 132,000 children under five are expected to suffer from acute malnutrition, including over 41,000 severe cases, and nearly 55,500 malnourished pregnant and breastfeeding women are expected to need treatment. (IPC Info)
Mass displacement continues
Gaza remains a place of repeated forced movement and instability. Humanitarian planning documents for 2026 continue to describe roughly 1.9 million people—about 90% of Gaza’s population—as displaced, many multiple times. (Crisis Response)
A collapsed health system that is barely functioning
Gaza’s health system continues to operate on the edge of failure. In the latest OCHA Gaza Humanitarian Response Situation Report (No. 69, dated 27 Feb 2026):
Only 260 of 619 health service points (42%) were functioning, 90% only partially. (OCHA OPT)
This includes 19 of 37 hospitals functioning (alongside field hospitals, PHC centers, and medical points). (OCHA OPT)
Hospitals remain dependent on backup generators, with delays in essential electrical components impacting ICU, dialysis, operating theatres, and labs. (OCHA OPT)
Doctors remain overwhelmed, patients go untreated, and entire communities struggle to access basic care.
Violence has not “ended”
Even under the post-ceasefire period described in OCHA’s reporting, civilian casualties continue. OCHA reports that since the ceasefire came into effect on 10 October 2025, the Gaza Ministry of Health recorded 618 killed and 1,663 injured as of 25 February 2026. (OCHA OPT)
Why the Ummah must act
Muslims around the world must take it upon themselves to learn, speak, and advocate. Knowledge is power, and understanding the history, politics, and human rights realities is essential.
Allah reminds us:
“You are the best community ever raised for humanity—you encourage good, forbid evil, and believe in Allah.” (Āl ʿImrān)
This is a call to uphold justice and forbid oppression.
Dissecting the disparity
Media bias
Many narratives in mainstream outlets reduce Gaza to “headlines” and strip away the daily reality of hunger, displacement, and collapse of basic life systems—despite UN-tracked humanitarian indicators showing an ongoing catastrophe. (OCHA OPT)
Political agendas
Too often, Western political messaging minimizes civilian suffering while meaningful protection and accountability remain absent—while UN agencies and humanitarian systems repeatedly document the scale of need. (OCHA OPT)
Educate yourself and others
Understanding the crisis
Food insecurity: ~1.6 million facing IPC 3+, with 571,000 projected in IPC 4 and ~1,900 in IPC 5 through mid-April 2026 (assuming conditions do not worsen). (IPC Info)

Health system: 42% of health service points functioning, mostly partially; 19/37 hospitals functioning; critical power/equipment constraints persist. (OCHA OPT)
Ongoing casualties post-ceasefire: 618 killed reported since 10 Oct 2025 through 25 Feb 2026. (OCHA OPT)
Deepen your understanding
Delve into publications like Light in Gaza: Writings Born of Fire, engage with voices from Gaza, and study credible lectures and analyses (including scholars and authors you mentioned) to understand how blockade, displacement, and repeated attacks shape civilian life.
Raise your voice
Social media activism
Use TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, and Instagram to share verified reporting and humanitarian indicators. Amplify campaigns and hashtags that raise awareness of hunger, displacement, and medical collapse (and always cite primary humanitarian sources when possible, such as OCHA/IPC). (OCHA OPT)
Engage with lawmakers
Urge elected officials to support immediate humanitarian access, protection of civilians, and accountability under international law—because policy decisions directly impact whether food, fuel, medical supplies, and shelter can reach families.
