Introduction
Thank you for downloading Everyday Muslim, an app from UMRATECH ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service govern your use of the Everyday Muslim mobile application and related services. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Everyday Muslim, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If there are any terms you do not agree with, please discontinue use of our app immediately.
Description of Service
Everyday Muslim is a free, ad-free, privacy-focused Islamic companion app dedicated to helping Muslims perform timely prayers and engage with daily Islamic practices. Features include:
- Daily and monthly prayer times based on your location
- Personalized Adhan alerts and notifications
- Qibla direction locator
- Qur'an reading with audio recitation and translations
- Authentic Islamic supplications (Duas)
- Nearby mosques and halal places locator
- Prayer and fasting tracker with statistics
- Home screen widgets and Apple Watch complications
- Khair Partners for shared spiritual accountability (account required)
- Customizable themes and app personalization
Location Access
Everyday Muslim may request permission to access your location to accurately display prayer times, Qibla direction, and nearby mosques. We do not collect or store your location data on our servers—it remains on your device. You may deny location access, grant access only while the app is in use, or change permissions at any time in your device settings. Without location access, some features may not function accurately.
Supporter Subscriptions and Billing
Everyday Muslim is free to use. We offer an optional Supporter subscription for those who wish to contribute to the app's development and ongoing costs. Your support is sadaqa jariyah (continuous charity), as every Muslim who benefits from the app brings you reward, insha'Allah.
Billing and Renewal
Supporter subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Prices are displayed in your local currency and may vary by region.
Auto-Renewal
Your Supporter subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Cancellation
You may cancel your Supporter subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
To cancel on iOS:
Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Everyday Muslim > Cancel Subscription
To cancel on Android:
Open Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > Everyday Muslim > Cancel Subscription
Refunds
All purchases are final and handled by Apple or Google. If you believe you were charged in error, please contact Apple Support or Google Play Support directly.
User Accounts
Everyday Muslim does not require an account for most features. If you choose to create an account—for Khair Partners, backup and restore, in-app support, or other account-based features—you must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use this app, or have your parent or guardian's consent if you are a minor.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Everyday Muslim only for lawful purposes and in accordance with Islamic principles. You agree not to:
- Use the app for any illegal purpose
- Transmit any harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content through account-based features
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the app or its services
- Attempt to reverse engineer or extract source code from the app
Intellectual Property
All content, design, and functionality of Everyday Muslim are protected by intellectual property laws. Qur'anic text, Hadith, Duas, and other Islamic content are provided from authentic sources for educational and spiritual purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from app content without permission, except as permitted by the app's sharing features.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Everyday Muslim is provided 'as is' without any warranties. While we strive to provide accurate prayer times, Qibla direction, and Islamic content, prayer time calculations depend on your location and settings. We recommend verifying prayer times with local authorities and consulting qualified Islamic scholars for religious guidance.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, UMRATECH shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the app, including but not limited to missed prayers, inaccurate location-based calculations, or reliance on app content.
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to account-based features for any reason, including breach of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or through in-app settings. Upon termination, your right to use account-based features will cease.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the 'Last Updated' date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through good faith negotiation, and if necessary, through appropriate legal channels in accordance with Islamic principles of justice.
